The Old Kitchen featuring a Queen size bed, is a lovely room converted from the original Foxhunters Return kitchen which dates back to the early 1830's. The fireplace for the cooking range now houses a working wood heater, making it perfect for a cold winter's night. The interior walls are constructed from freestone with retaining bars still visible in the room. Spacious ensuite facilities now take the place of the Kitchen's old dry store. Original timber windows have views over the main courtyard to the stables and towards the Elizabeth River and out to the kitchen gardens. The Old Kitchen has tea & coffee making facilities, a fridge, a digital HD LCD television with DVD player, table and chairs, sofa and a large thermostat controlled electric heater to supplement the wood stove.
