Foxhunters Return

Campbell Town - History & Interest Aplenty

Local Attractions - Campbell Town
Campbell Town's attractions begin and end outside the front door of Foxhunters Return. Heritage buffs should start their tour of the town with the Convict Brick Trail where you can search for a convict ancestor amongst the thousands of bricks lining High Street. These record the names, ages, crimes, sentencing dates and transport ships of many of the convicts transported to Van Diemen's Land. Laid to commemorate those convicts that died on the journey before reaching the shores of the new colony, the trail is a great place to search out a convict ancestor.

Recently nominated for World Heritage Listing, the extensive grounds at Woolmers are also home to the National Rose Garden.
A little further north take the time to meander through the streets of Evandale, another delightful village with a rich history and some wonderful examples of early colonial architecture. Famous for its regular Sunday country market, Evandale is also home to the World Penny Farthing Championships in February each year.
